WELCOME TO DIASPORA OPEN SPACE

Through strategic engagement with governments, business and NGOs, we are a united movement of African diaspora communities driving systemic change and advocating for impactful policy decisions. By amplifying our voices, we push for meaningful social, political, and economic progress.

Every day, African Diaspora communities are reshaping the world, empowering those who have crossed borders while staying deeply connected to their roots. With over 250 million strong, their impact is felt across cultures, economies, and politics. Our mission is to support these communities and unite diaspora stakeholders to build a powerful Diaspora Open Space family. For too long, diaspora organizations have worked in the shadows, fueling resilience and progress. Now, it's time to amplify their voices, celebrate their contributions, and stand united in our shared purpose.

In a historic move, Diaspora Open Space, led by founder Remmy Bahati, met with the  White House Executive Team to champion the voices and needs of African Diaspora communities. This transformative dialogue focused on immigration reform, public policy, community empowerment, and economic equity, marking a significant step in advancing the Diaspora's role in shaping U.S. and global policy.

As part of this initiative, Diaspora Open Space announced the inaugural Diaspora Forum at the UN General Assembly to unite leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to tackle critical issues and celebrate the Diaspora's contributions. The White House has committed to partnering with Diaspora Open Space, ensuring lasting impact and systemic change for African Diaspora communities.
